The Waitaki District, in the Canterbury and Otago regions of New Zealand, straddles the traditional border between the two regions, the Waitaki River.
We did a short stop at Waitaki District for some picture taking. A stunning natural beauty and one of New Zealand’s best photo stop. Enjoying the wonderful landscapes. Look how amazing and lucky New Zealand to be surrounded with these natural beauty.
The Waitaki Valley is an unspoilt, untouched paradise with some of the best scenery in New Zealand. A drive through the Valley will inspire you to get in touch with nature, either through camping, boating or picnicking by the beautiful braided river or one of the three lakes or through exploring the fossil trail and other limestone wonders. The developing wine industry in the Valley provides the opportunity to experience cold climate while enjoying a platter made of local produce. Popular activities include soaking in the hot tubs, gliding over the McKenzie basin, skiing or boarding in the mountains or meandering through nature walks.
