Phillip Island

PHILLIP ISLAND is approximately 140 kilometres South East of Melbourne and is the home of the world famous Penguin Parade and the Australian MotoGP event.

Getting ready to countinue our journey to our next destination.

Pannys Amazing World of Chocolate is an interactive experience of all things chocolate, and Pannys cafe sells the most amazing meals, drinks and snacks, all with a chocolate theme. Free chocolate sample everytime you visited their shops, which sells over 190 varieties of handmade chocolates to choose from.
Woolamai Beach is on the South-East corner of Phillip Island, which is around 100km South of Melbourne, in the state of Victoria, Australia. Climatic zone is Cool temperate. It is a semi-rural beach, there is a suburban street nearby, but no shops within walking distance. The foreshore consists of sand dunes. Accessible mostly by car and the most practical way to visit.
It is the longest beach on the island at around 2.5 km. It is a long sandy beach, the sand has a nice golden colour and clean.Woolamai Beach is an ocean surf beach, affected by wind, swell, and tides.

A bridge in the town centre provides a link from the mainland to the popular holiday destination of Phillip Island. Tuck into delectable fresh seafood in San Remo and  the gateway to Phillip Island.

Phillip Island is via a bridge between San Remo, on the mainland, and Newhaven on Phillip Island. The island is being exposed to the open ocean, Bass Strait, giving us some of the best surf beaches and scenic coastline in Australia. The northern coastline is situated in Westernport Bay and offer great sandy beaches that have calm and safe swimming areas, while the western coastlne has a number of bays and inlets that contained magnificent mangrove flats.

San Remo is a fully operational fishing village with the San Remo Fisherman’s Co-op being the major fresh fish supplier in the area. We had a freshly lobster menu for our dinner at San Remo Restaurant.
Phillip Island Nature Parks is the home of Australia’s most popular natural wildlife attraction, the iconic Penguin Parade, along with the Koala Conservation Centre, Churchill Island Heritage Farm and the Nobbies Centre.  The Penguin Parade is one of the most well known and popular of the attractions on Phillip Island. Each evening just after the sun sets (at dusk) the little penguins or better known as fairy penguins, stroll up the beach to after a period of time at sea to return to their burrows. The Penguin Parade is Australia’s most popular wildlife attraction and home to the one of the largest Little Penguin colonies in the world.
Every sunset, wild Little Penguins emerge from the sea and waddle across the beach to their sand dune burrows. The Little Penguin is the world’s smallest penguin and the Penguin Parade is the best place to experience this natural phenomenon.

Phillip Island Nature Parks is dedicated to the protection of the Little Penguins. It is for this reason that no outdoor photography and filming at the Penguin Parade is allowed, even without the use of a flash.  The Little Penguins are wild creatures and studies have shown that photography disturbs and frightens them.
