Christchurch, New Zealand (Canterbury Region)

We arrive at Christchurch a week after the earthquake happened the place seems to be a ghost town, I feel so peaceful. We haven't tour much around Christchurch due to the earthquake that occur. Most roads at Christchurch that was damage are closed for the safety of the people. The hotel that we supposed to live for a night was also damage. No water and No Toilet.

Christchurch is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand, and the country's second-largest urban area. It lies one third of the way down the South Island's east coast, just north of Banks Peninsula which itself, since 2006, lies within the formal limits of Christchurch. The city is centered around the lovely Cathedral Square.
Christchurch is a beautiful city that offers some of the best sightseeing you will find both in New Zealand and the entire world. Built around the majestic Hagley Park, Christchurch is home to amazing natural, historic and cultural sights that will make your holiday a memorable one.

Mona Vale is a public park feature the fernery and the rose garden. It is one of the major tourist attraction in Christchurch. Due to the earthquake that happended last February 2011, the Mona Vale homestead was partly damage and was closed temporarily, we did not have the chance to explore more of it.

Hagley Park is located in the central city of Christchurch. A huge park with golf course, botanical garden and contains several netball courts. The park has hosted many visiting circuses and open air concerts. (pass by)

Sign of the Takahe is a restaurant and a function center that caters wedding and other functions. The Takahe also provides a good panoramic view of the city of Christchurch.

After a brief sightseeing at Christchurch we make way to Ashburton for Dinner. It was a long drive and took us almost two hours to arrived at Ashburton (no traffic jam).
