Macau: Asia's Las Vegas

Macau is one of the two administrative region of the People's Republic of China, along with Hong Kong. Macau was a Portuguese colony. Macau's economy is based on tourism and gambling as Macau's biggest source of revenue. Macau has 33 casinos and biggest is The Venetian Macau. Forms of all gambling are legal in Macau such as blackjack, baccarat, slot machine and others.

From Hong Kong we took a ferry going to Macau. China Ferry Terminal at Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, we bought ticket from New World First Ferry, operates five routes inner harbour and outlying island ferry services in Hong Kong for a 60 to 75 minutes service depending on the vessel type to Macau Ferry Terminal, at Connaught Road Central.

First Ferry is sailing everyday from Hong Kong to Macau and vice versa as early as 7am and departs every 30 minutes until 5:30pm. They also have night sailing at 6pm to 10:30pm Monday to Fridays except Hong Kong and Macau Public Holidays.

There are other Ferry for Hong Kong to Macau route and vice versa like Turbo Jet and Premier Jetfoil.

Upon arriving at Macau Ferry Terminal we took a free shuttle bus going to The Venetian at Cotai Strip for check in, but if your planning to go to Venetian for a day tour or to shop you may also take there free shuttle bus, vice versa and also when going to Macau Airport. The Venetian shuttle bus operates from 10am to midnight daily and leaves the airport every 5 - 8 minutes.
